We spent the day out on Carlyle Lake in a pontoon boat with my folks, my sister, her husband and the kiddos. You can see below Ross teaching Gracie how to drive the boat. It was a nice relaxing afternoon that started off like Washington weather with a hint of rain, but by mid day turned into a beautiful sunny 85 degree day.
We followed the boat ride with some swimming, picnicking, baseball and football.
Then we headed out to a small town in Illinois where they were having a fourth of July carnival, little rides including a big lighted slide, fair food including funnel cakes and beer, live music and fireflies. The smells and
sounds were great and fireworks began around 9:30.
